Partners INSA and CSIC participated in the workshop “Dialogue with Wings: Communicating Mosquito Science Effectively”, held at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) in Mendrisio, Switzerland. This event was organized by the European Mosquito Control Association (EMCA) and held from 2 to 4 December 2024. The event focused on six key areas: risk communication, visual communication, community engagement, media relations, communication with stakeholders, and funding strategies for communication.
The workshop brought together expert-led lectures, hands-on group activities, and real-world case studies to explore how mosquito-related science can be communicated more effectively. Participants gained practical tools and strategies to translate complex scientific findings into clear messages tailored for different audiences, from policymakers to local communities. These new skills are key to improving mosquito science outreach and strengthening collaboration in tackling the growing challenges posed by mosquito-borne diseases.
