A group of researchers from the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), through its Centre for the Study of Vectors and Infectious Diseases (CEVDI), is calling on citizens to actively participate in the monitoring of invasive mosquito species by using the Mosquito Alert smartphone application. This tool, one of the main operational assets of MOBVEC, allows anyone to photograph a mosquito and submit the image via an electronic report, which INSA specialists then use to identify the species and confirm its location.
