UCLouvain participated in the 2025 edition of Critical Communications World (CCW), held in Brussels on 17–19 June. It represented the largest gathering in the event’s history and reaffirmed its position as the leading global forum for mission-critical communications. The event attracted over 5,200 participants from 81 countries and featured 250 exhibitors and partners alongside an extensive conference programme comprising 250 expert speakers and 125 sessions.
The core theme, “Working together: Advancing global critical communications for a safer, more connected world,” framed discussions on key technological and policy developments. Contributions spanned mission-critical broadband, cybersecurity, Internet of Things and safe city applications, unmanned aerial systems, satellite communications, and early warning solutions. The Global Village, which brought together 31 governmental authorities and operators from 25 countries, underscored the event’s role as a platform for international policy exchange and cross-sector dialogue.
Beyond knowledge dissemination, CCW 2025 functioned as a site of applied demonstration and networking. Focus Forums, guided technology tours, and in situ equipment showcases facilitated experiential learning and technology assessment. Evaluation metrics indicate significant perceived value, with 92% of visitors identifying participation as important to their professional activities and 94% of exhibitors confirming its relevance for business development.
