Partner ASPB participated in the European Vertebrate Management Conference (EVMC 2025), held from May 12–16, 2025 in Ankaran, Slovenia. The conference brings together international researchers and practitioners to share experiences, present new findings, and foster collaborations that shape the future of vertebrate management. It covers a wide range of disciplines and topics, including ecology, genetics, population monitoring, human–wildlife conflicts, invasive species, agricultural and urban systems, health and zoonosis, rodenticide resistance, and innovative methodologies.
Its main goal is to serve as an inclusive, multidisciplinary scientific platform that integrates studies on vertebrate ecology, behavior, ecological roles, and coexistence with humans. On the other hand, mosquitoes and vertebrate reservoirs form a cycle where mosquitoes transmit viruses by feeding on infected vertebrates, which act as the reservoir- therefore of importance for MOBVEC.
The meeting also emphasizes building professional and personal networks, promoting durable scientific impact and collaborative approaches to vertebrate management.
